Community guidelines

A safer room for real hair conversations.

Naps & Wrangles is built for curiosity, care, honest experience, and practical support. These rules protect that spirit without pretending everyone has to agree.

Moderation in this preview

Signed-in reports enter the shared moderation queue when the community database is connected. Signed-out reports only hide an item in the browser where the report was made. Production still needs a documented review process, action log, and appeal path.

Respect every texture and identity

No hair shaming, texturism, racism, bullying, threats, hate, or insults. Do not make someone feel lesser for their pattern, density, style, age, disability, gender, sexuality, race, culture, religion, or background.

Disagree with care

Challenge the advice, not the person. Explain corrections without mocking, piling on, tone-policing, quote-posting someone for ridicule, or recruiting others to attack them. Different routines can work for different people.

Share experience, not diagnosis

Say what worked for you without presenting it as a guaranteed cure. Do not encourage dangerous mixtures, prescription use, or ignoring pain, burns, infection, sores, allergic reactions, sudden major hair loss, or a child in distress.

Protect photos, privacy, and consent

Share only photos you own or have permission to post. Do not expose contact details, private messages, addresses, schools, workplaces, medical records, locations, or identifying information. Remove metadata or background details that reveal more than intended.

Protect children and teens

Never sexualize, exploit, groom, privately solicit, or request identifying details or private photos from a minor. Do not offer private meetups, appointments, rides, lodging, or off-platform contact to minors. Guardians should avoid revealing schools, locations, and routines.

Keep reviews and results honest

Review products you actually used. Disclose sponsorships, gifts, affiliate links, employment, ownership, and personal sales. For transformations, disclose filters, editing, wigs, extensions, fibers, added hair, lighting changes, or other factors that materially affect the result.

Promote without pressuring

Relevant, occasional recommendations are welcome when your connection is disclosed. Repeated self-promotion, unsolicited selling, client recruitment in support threads, MLM recruiting, referral-code dumping, fake scarcity, fundraising, and moving users off-platform to buy are not.

Post work you have the right to share

Do not copy full articles, paid guides, classes, salon education, product photography, graphics, or social posts. Credit does not replace permission. Use short quotations with a source and share your own writing, images, routines, or authorized material.

Be authentic about identity and AI

Do not impersonate members, professionals, brands, or Naps & Wrangles; invent credentials; fabricate testimonials; or manipulate engagement. Clearly disclose materially AI-generated writing, advice, images, transformations, or testimonials. AI cannot be used to fake personal experience.

Use reports responsibly

Report conduct, privacy risks, unsafe advice, scams, or rule violations, not ordinary disagreement. Do not file knowingly false or retaliatory reports, encourage mass reporting, publicly accuse someone of being reported, or investigate and confront them yourself.

Keep the room useful

Choose the closest category, use a clear title, stay reasonably on topic, and check for an existing conversation before repeating a question. Use Like instead of posting only "same" or "agree," and do not derail someone's request with unrelated debates.

Content we will act on at launch

Once moderation is connected, we will act quickly on credible threats, sharing someone's private identifying information (doxxing), predatory behavior, sexual or exploitative content involving minors, non-consensual intimate content, scams, impersonation, counterfeit or dangerous goods, malicious links, and instructions likely to cause serious injury. Do not rely on a browser-only report for an immediate safety concern.

What belongs here

Honest routines, beginner questions, respectful disagreement, product context, ingredient notes, disclosed business recommendations, photos shared with consent, and practical replies that help someone make a more informed hair-care decision.

Enforcement and appeals

Moderation is proportional when possible, but serious harm may skip directly to removal or suspension. Once production account moderation is connected, the usual path may include:

  1. 1.A reminder or request to revise the content
  2. 2.Content hidden while context is reviewed
  3. 3.Content removed or a discussion limited
  4. 4.Temporary posting restrictions or account suspension
  5. 5.Permanent removal for repeated or severe violations

Once it is connected, members will be able to request a review of a content or account decision by explaining what was misunderstood or corrected. Appeals are not a place to threaten moderators, repeat abuse, or demand information about another member. Restoring content does not automatically mean the original report was malicious.
