What happens when something needs attention.

Naps & Wrangles is a hair-care community, not an emergency service or medical provider. This page explains reporting, moderation outcomes, appeals, privacy, and when community advice should stop.

Report the specific item

Use Report on a feed post, question, routine, or review. Choose the closest reason and add concise context. Report conduct or risk, not ordinary disagreement.

The item may leave your view

When you are signed in, a report hides the item in your view while it is sent to the moderation queue when the community database is connected. Signed-out reports only hide the item locally until an account and working connection are available.

Moderators review context

At launch, a moderator will consider the content, report reason, available history, severity, and community risk. A report alone does not prove a violation.

A decision is recorded

At launch, the workflow will record whether content was restored, revised, limited, removed, or escalated, along with the moderator's reason.

Possible outcomes

  • No violation found; content restored
  • Author asked to edit or add context
  • Discussion limited, locked, or moved
  • Content hidden or removed
  • Posting restriction or account suspension
  • Immediate escalation for credible threats, exploitation, doxxing, fraud, or minor-safety concerns

Appeals and corrections

Once account-level moderation is connected, a member should be able to request review of a decision by explaining missing context, what was misunderstood, or what they corrected. Appeals do not guarantee reversal and cannot be used to harass moderators or demand private information about another member.

Medical and scalp safety

Severe pain, burns, infection symptoms, bleeding, open sores, allergic reaction, sudden major hair loss, breathing difficulty, eye exposure, poisoning, or a child in distress need appropriate professional or emergency help, not a community diagnosis.

If there is immediate danger, call your local emergency number. In the United States, call 911. For suspected poisoning in the United States, contact Poison Control at 1-800-222-1222. This information does not replace professional care.

Privacy, photos, and minors

Do not post private details about yourself or someone else. Be especially careful with children, school and workplace details, medical history, location clues, private messages, and image backgrounds. Never request private photos or off-platform contact from a minor.

What happens when a connection is unavailable

Hidden states and rate-limit checks can remain in browser storage. A report is written to the shared moderation queue when Supabase is connected; otherwise it cannot reach the team until it is submitted again with a working connection. Do not rely on this site for emergencies, immediate threats, exploitation, or child-safety concerns. Production still needs the live report queue, moderator action log, account restrictions, notifications, retention rules, and a working appeal channel configured in Supabase.
